This is a bulletproof fix for the PNG transparency issue in
IE6 without any scripts.
Use Fireworks to export the image as a PNG 8 with alpha
transparency. Here is how:
1. Open the file in Fireworks (I’m using Adobe
Fireworks CS4)
2. The select Export Wizard for the File menu.
3. In the Export Wizard properties box choose
select an export format and click continue.
4. Next select the The web option and click
continue, then click exit.
5. Now you should be in the Image preview properties
window. Select PNG 8 from the
format selection dropdown menu.
6. This step is very important. Make sure you
choose Alpha transparent from the transparency selection dropdown menu; them
click export and save your IE6 proof transparent PNG!
And that’s it you’re done.
